Why did they even remove the sound cue when the shield's duration is about to end?

In all honesty, i think the removed kill reset is not a good changed. If i was to change something, it would be to remove the shield he immediately has upon activation of his ability like when he was first introduced cause it just feels like its a little too easy for Iso to get into fights without working for the shield.
